One of the things we love about the public school system here in Kalispell is the strong music program and very gifted music teachers who creatively stir up a passion for the arts. Here are a few clips from Cece playing the viola in her orchestra concert and Blake in choir with an Olympic theme. One of the songs was Chinese but I just noticed I edited it out to shorten the video :( Click the photo to see what is left :) Asia - Here we Come
The Balcoms are officially off to Asia in August - that's right all 5 of us. When I was in China a year ago I came home with a burning desire to return with my family. At New Years our kids expressed their top desires for the year and we found at the tops of the lists was the desire to be able to go on an outreach overseas, so we decided to make it a priority. With Blake heading into his senior year it just might be our last opportunity to go abroad as a family. We are limited about what we can say at this point but we sure look forward to sharing when we get back. We are connecting with friends from our early Mercy Ships days as well as ones I was humbled to meet on my trip there. We will also see former shipmates in Singapore. It is going to be great! Please be apart of this outreach by your help - Information on financial support can be found here, we'll share later how best you can be praying for us.

The teenage years are full of activity. Prom night was a
great time for both Blake and Cece. We like the fact that with
a daughter the night begins and ends at our house!! Blake
posed with Mom before he took off for a photo session at his
date's house.
![]() Blake's Select Soccer season has begun which means weekend trips across many miles. Robyn, Blake and Cece headed to Washington for a soccer tournament and college visit. On their way home they ran out of gas in the middle of nowhere... thank God for cell phones...

We've had a cold spring - somehow Global warming
seems to be missing MT.

On the way to one soccer game Derek noticed a
deer alive but caught on a fence. We turned and around and I
had the chance to be a hero to the cheers of my family!!
Oh, that it might happen to a big buck during hunting season. Well, my workmates have been to Chile, South Africa, Indonesia and now two are in C hina while I've been toughing it out in Montana. We're excited to see the steady flow of applicants heading out to help frontline missions around the world ... Here's the latest spring newsletter from MBI.
